So here we are at the end of our Reception journey. And what a journey it has been. Thank you to all our wonderful families for your support this year, before, during and after the lockdown period. Your children are simply fabulous and we have thoroughly enjoyed teaching them this year. Continue to encourage them to do their best and keep reaching for those stars in Year 1. We will really miss them all. Have a wonderful summer break. Here are some pictures to wrap up our year; we tried our best to include a picture of everyone who is allowed their picture on the blog.
2nd - 6th March
What an exciting week we have had! On Monday, our eggs were delivered and throughout the course of the week, we have watched our eggs to hatch into 10 beautiful, fluffy chicks! We have 4 girls and 6 boys. The children (and adults!) have all been very excited to watch them this week. We have them for one more week before they have to leave us. On Thursday, we also celebrated World Book Day and what fantastic costumes the children came in. They were all brilliant.
Next week, we will be learning the 'ear' and 'air' phonemes. Please practise these sounds and try writing some words with these sounds in at home.
Thank you for your continued support.
This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year. This year is the year of the rat, so we have practised drawing the rat symbol. We tried lots of different Chinese food, including prawn crackers, noodles and spring rolls. We also performed some dragon dancing and made dragon masks.
In phonics next week we will be learning the sounds oo and ar.
We will continue to learn the same key words (me, be, are, got, his) for another week - we can see that lots of children have been practising their key words that we sent out just before Christmas and are now becoming more confident reading them on sight. Keep up the great work.
All the children have made a fantastic start to 'big' school! We have all been learning lots of new routines, making new friends and learning all about ourselves and each other. Here are a few pictures.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
