The cold, frosty winter weather visited Forest School for week 4. The children discovered ice sculptures had formed in the tyres and had super fun using them to create animal characters such as unicorns and Highland Cows. They also became television news broadcasters once they had created their own lounge area complete with an L Shaped sofa, coffee table and television!
We also made bird feeders for the birds to feast on in the cold weather.
We all had a fantastic week 3 in Forest School! The children built dens, modelled nature creatures and pots with clay and cooked pancakes on the fire which they thoroughly enjoyed. 😊
In week 2 the children were shown how to create a fire and we discussed how to stay safe around fires. They also all enjoyed creating their own sparks using the flint and steels. Everyone successfully created a spark and we even captured one on camera!!
The second group of children from 5M had an amazing first week at Forest School. They worked brilliantly together to build dens and sculptures using mallets and natural building materials. Others created clay forest creatures and a game of noughts and crosses. What a fantastic start!
The first group of children from 5M had a wonderful time in Forest School amongst the willow dens, creating sculptures for imaginative role play games and using tools such as a bow saw to make their own pumpkins!
They even had a visit from a beautiful butterfly!
