What a week!!!
Wow, I cannot believe that we are at the end of our first week. The children have come back to school with great attitudes to learning. I am very proud.
Welcome to all our new starters. The new Reception class have been accessing school this week in preparation for their first full week on Monday. They have loved playing in the continuous provision and making new friends. I am doing well at remembering all the new names!
Welcome to all our new Pre-School children too.

Dear Parents
As you are aware we have had our graded Ofsted inspection over the last two days.
The process involved lesson observations, subject leader interviews, staff interviews, pupil interviews, book scrutiny, Governor interviews and many meetings to explore our school offer.
Whilst I am unable to share the grade we received until the final report is published, I would just like to commend our children on how well mannered, courteous and hardworking they are. They are a credit to us and to you!
Many thanks to all those parents who were able to complete the Parental questionnaire and thank you to our Governors who were able to support this process at a moment’s notice.
I would also like to thank all our staff, who have worked incredibly hard over the last two days.
As soon as we have the report, I will share Ofsted’s findings with you (we expect this to be available before the summer break).
As always, thank you for your continued support.
Mrs Webb

Dear parent or carer
Inspection of Lostock Hall Community Primary School by Ofsted
We have just told your child's school that we will inspect it on 08 May 2024. The lead inspector will be David Robinson, HMI. We are writing to you because we would like to know what you think about the school. Please take a few minutes to read the leaflet that came with this letter. It explains why we inspect schools and what happens during an inspection.
Your views about the school are important to us
If you are a registered parent or carer of a pupil at the school (including pupils on sick leave or who are temporarily excluded), you can tell us your views about the school by completing Ofsted's online survey, Ofsted Parent View, at: https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk.
Ofsted Parent View asks for your opinion on some aspects of your child's school, including the progress made by your child, the quality of teaching, how the school deals with bullying and poor behaviour. It also provides a free-text box for you to make additional comments, if you wish. The inspectors will use the online survey responses when inspecting your child's school. Written comments can also be sent to the school in a sealed envelope, marked confidential and addressed to the inspection team.
To register your views, you will need to provide your email address, which will be held securely. It will not be used for any purpose other than providing access to the online survey. Neither schools nor Ofsted will have access to any email addresses.
Please complete the online survey by 11am on 08 May 2024 as this will give the inspection team more time to consider your views. However, we will consider all online responses that are completed during the inspection, although the free-text box facility will not be available after noon on 09 May 2024.
Speaking to an inspector
If you are unable to complete the online survey, it may be possible to speak to an inspector during the inspection, for instance at the start of the school day, or to pass on messages to the inspectors if you are unable to speak to them in person. Inspection administrators will be happy to make the necessary arrangements. If concerns are raised about child protection, we may have to pass the information we receive to social services or the police. You can contact the administrators on 03000131409. Inspectors will be pleased to receive your comments, but cannot deal with complaints about individual pupils or settle disputes between you and the school.
Gathering personal information on inspection
Inspectors will gather any personal information necessary to assist them in inspecting a school. Our privacy policy sets out what personal information we collect, what we do with it, how long we keep it and individuals' rights under data protection legislation. The contact details for Ofsted's Data Protection Officer are: Email - informationrequest@ofsted.gov.uk; Post - Information management team, Ofsted, 2 Rivergate, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6EH.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the online survey.
Yours faithfully
Becky Cowley

9th October-13th October 2023
This week we are focusing on Life Skills. It is so important that we equip our children with skills that not only support their academic progress, but also, those that they can use in everyday life.
This week classes have been working with Open View Education, raising awareness of positive Mental Health. Children have been working with Denise from HSBC, talking about money matters and also learning First Aid skills with Centaur, amongst other activities.
The children have been fantastic - as usual.
It is great to have themed weeks with a range of visitors to enhance our curriculum offer for our children.
Funds have been allocated to refurbish the children’s play area at Tardy Gate, Lostock Hall. The improvements are proposed to take place in the summer of 2024 and will provide new equipment for toddlers (ages 2-6), juniors (ages 7-12) and an improved kickabout area with additional dynamic equipment for the juniors/teens. A new skate park is also proposed as part of the project. How you can get involved Ideas for new equipment can be viewed and feedback left at: https://yoursay.citizenspace.com/parks-andneighbourhoods/tardygate
or by scanning the QR code (on the pdf).
The online consultation will run from Monday 18th September – Sunday 15th October 2023. There will also be a consultation event held at the playground from 15:00 until 18:30 on Thursday 5 th October 2023.

Unexpected visitor! 28.6.23
Today we had an unexpected visitor....Costa the parrot had been startled at home on Sunday by a naughty magpie and ended up flying away. She usually lives in Clayton-Le-Woods but found her way to Lostock Hall on Wednesday.
We were fortunate enough to use Social Media to reunite Costa with her human Mum and Dad....we love a happy ending!
Costa sent us a message....
I was missing since Sunday 25th June 2023, I was being chased by a magpie. I found my way to your school.
Thanks to all you children and teachers of Lostock Hall Primary School, I was reunited with my human parents. It was my 2nd birthday the day you helped me.
Thank you so much for being so kind, helping me find my way back home safe.

A huge thank you to Jennifer from Kapla Club ( https://kaplaclubs.co.uk) for the amazing construction in the school hall! Every child from pre-school to year 6 were involved in making the unbelievable models you see below...all from small planks of wood!
Thank you to the parents who came to view the monuments of wood and what an experience for the children! Enjoy the photographs below!

The children were fantastic! They shared their own knowledge and asked some great questions.
British Science Week 13-17th March 2023.
This week we have been thinking about Science. Each class from Axia has teamed up with a class from AFACT (a group of schools from Bromley) and have been working on similar projects to explore 'connections'. The children have carried out investigations and experiments to support our learning about the achievements of Scientists across the world.
Please make sure you have a look at the Class Blogs for a more detailed overview of what the children have been doing.

Today and in the coming weeks, we will mourn our Queen. Our love, thoughts, prayers and condolences go to King Charles III and the entire Royal Family.
Today we will remember the Queen who reigned for 70 years, she dedicated her life to our country and to many countries across the world within the Commonwealth. Her sheer loyalty, commitment and strength is something for all of us to admire. She was a role model, she advocated cooperation, collaboration and equality and that is a lesson to us all.
She shared her life with us, her love of her family, horses and adorable corgis. She invited us into her palace every Christmas Day to send us messages of love and positivity.
I personally felt our Queen was an inspiration, her selfless commitment went above and beyond all expectations.
In the coming months we will move forward, remembering all she has done for our country, acknowledging her devotion and determination.
We will embrace our new King, we will follow King Charles III’s guidance and be assured he we provide us with the direction our country needs.
God save the King.
Our Pupil Leaders (Joseph, Piper, Aster and Kayden) all came to the Axia HT meeting to meet our neighbouring MP Katherine Fletcher.
The children asked some fantastic questions!
I am so proud of how they represented our school and the pupils of Axia Learning Alliance.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
