Some of our activities this week will relate to ‘Fire-Fighters and World Book Day’.
Zoom Room Invite:
In our our final Zoom Room on Thursday (4th) at 10 o’clock. Please bring your favourite teddy and a favourite story book you like to read/ listen to.
Phonics (Mon 1st)
We will be doing our short Zoom Room phonics revision session, at 11 o’clock, to revise the letters we have already learnt. (We will also include shape/ number revision too)

Before beginning each of your Literacy activity please have a look at all the letters we have been learning so far in Pre-School this year. Can you say the sound and action for each letter?

What different jobs can a Fire-fighter do?
Imagine you are a fire-fighter and see a fire in a house, what would you say to another fire-fighter?
Thurs 4th – World Book Day
Set up a reading area, outside (if possible), make it cosy with blankets and cushions. Take your favourite books and maybe some teddies/ dolls and read them stories using the pictures. Which is your favourite story?
Fri 5th - You are a Fire-Fighter again, try and do some writing with water, fingers crossed it isn’t raining or wet outside today.
Using a spray water bottle or a squirty water bottle try witing letters on the path outside

Mathematics
Mon 1st – Colour the picture of a fire-engine

Tues 2nd – Look at a telephone key-pad, which ones can you read?
Make your own telephone and write the numbers on each button.
What number do you need to ring if you see a fire?

Use your teddies in a line and sing the song and take a teddy away each time, just like the Tweenies do when 1 of the sit down
Thurs 4th – World Book Day
Make a Counting Book for the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
On each page write the number at the top and then draw the correct amount of objects or cut out the correct number of pictures and stick them on.
Fri 5th – Using a variety of different containers and bottles, explore pouring water into them and then into each other. Can you find an empty bottle/ container and a full bottle/ container? What happens if you pour too much water into a small bottle/ container?
This could be done in a sink or when you are having a bath.
Topic
Mon 1st – Make your own fire-engine using recycled boxes.
You could use a cereal / tissue box for the main part of the engine. You could use circle lids for the wheels. Can you think what you could use for the blue flashing light and ladders?
Tues 2nd – Paint or colour your fire-engine red. Are there any extra parts you would like to add?
If you made it again are there any improvements you would make?
Wed 3rd – After watching the clip in Literacy, pretend to be a Fire-fighter. Do you need to put any (pretend) fires out? Maybe use a water pistol/ spray bottle as your hose. Can you help rescue any animals (teddies) which are stuck?
Thurs 4th – World Book Day
Pretend you are a character from one of your favourite stories, can you act out the story/ sing a song from the story?
