On Friday 15th July, we are having a visit from Helen Minshall from Brass Band England, she will be coming into school to carry out some music workshops with Year 3 pupils. In the afternoon we are planning to hold a ‘Proms in the Playground Concert’ which will involve pupils from years 2 – 6. The concert will take place on the playground starting at 2.15pm.
Year 3 will be sharing what they have learnt with Helen in the morning, Year 4 will be playing their brass instruments for us and showing us all the things they have worked on this year with Mrs Greig, the school choir will be singing and the other children will also sing a song or two!
We are also very lucky to have some members of Lostock Hall Memorial Brass Band and Lancashire Youth Brass Band (some of our ex pupils) who are going to come and play a few pieces of music for us all to enjoy and to tell us a little bit about playing in a brass band.
We’re sure it will be a lovely afternoon of music. Parents/Carers are very welcome to attend, please bring your own chair and we will have a designated area for you to sit.
If the weather is bad, unfortunately parents won’t be able to attend as we will have to hold the event in the school hall and there won’t be room for everyone. Also, please bear in mind if the weather is good the children will need to bring a sun hat and make sure they have applied suncream at home.
Thanks for your continued support, I’m sure it will be a lovely afternoon.
