Lostock Hall Forest School

In Forest School children get the chance to play, explore and discover. The sessions are all about the exploration of our surroundings. Activities are provided, but rather than being adult-led, children can choose and tailor activities to suit them. Forest School Leaders observe each child’s preferences and development and use their interests to flow with the energy of the day and follow what the children want to do.

The emphasis of Forest School is to reconnect, or in some cases ‘connect’, children with the outdoor environment and give them the opportunity to explore, engage, create and learn within the outdoor setting. Forest School is accessed by children across our school; with fantastic results. Forest school attendees have the chance to excel in real-world tasks which engage them; whilst developing friendships, improving problem solving skills and increasing independence.
