Home Learning – Week Commencing 24.01.22

Reading – Please read one of the books you have been assigned on Rising Stars each day.  The idea is to read a book more than once to build up fluency.  Once you have read a book a couple/few times so you are more fluent, please complete the quiz at the end and move it to the ‘finished’ section.

Please also read key words daily as flashcards (should take 2-3 minutes)

Topic

  • Monday Look at pictures of different religious buildings using the Places of Worship powerpoint (link below).  Discuss shape, features, building materials, colour etc.  Do any of the buildings look similar?  What kind of buildings are they? Ask children what they think happens in each of the buildings – talk about praying to God, weddings, christenings etc.
  • Tuesday – Look at the pictures of the inside and outside of a church.  What do the children notice?  Can they see: the tower, the clock, the cross, the stained glass windows, the pews, the font & the altar (the last 3 may need explaining).  Have a go at colouring in or designing your own stained glass window (links below).
