Planting potatoes, onions and radishes

Gardening fun and our Eco rewards

Our school had a hedgehog 'house' donated by a thoughtful parent. The eco reps set up the box with straw for a nice cosy place for hedgehogs to nest in. They then popped it in a nice quiet place (so it doesn't get disturbed); covered it with natural materials (so it can blend in with the environment). Lastly they added dog biscuits to tempt our prickly friends to come and stay!!

Fingers crossed that we will have some visitors soon!!!

Queen's Jubilee Planting

Today the eco reps have planted a beautiful Acer tree in the school grounds to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee. All the reps helped to plant and water the tree and a special plaque has been engraved to mark this very special occasion.

Gardening Fun

Our green fingered eco reps have been busy planting, watering and weeding in the school garden. We are currently growing potatoes, onions and carrots and are really looking forward to harvesting our produce in July.

Our Year 5 Eco-Reps having a Spring clean up and planting potatoes

Eco News

Each class from Year 2 upwards have now elected two children to be this year's eco reps! We are really looking forward to working as a committee to raise environmental awareness and develop the school environment. This will include litter picking, gardening, saving energy and encouraging sustainability.

Gardening Fun

Our eco reps have been busy planting potatoes recently. We have also been doing lots of weeding and keeping an eye on our other crops.

Our Eco-Reps took part in building a 'Giant Bug Hotel' down at Walton Park with the help of SRBC and volunteers. It was a great morning and the children worked hard to fill the structure.

Some photos to show what we got up to!
