Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Dear Parents
Further from the advice received from Public Health England on Monday 28th September I must update you with new advice received today. Pupils from Year 6 should now return on Thursday 8th October as this will be 14 days from the last point of contact and not from the date of incubation as previously advised.
I can only apologise for this, as the initial advice from PHE was clearly incorrect. I thank parents for their support in this challenging time and look forward to welcoming the children and staff back to school.
Yours sincerely
Miss Laura Duce
Yesterday afternoon we had news of a positive case in one of our Y6 bubbles. I would like to take this opportunity to reassure parents that I have followed all guidance from Public Health. Staff and children have been identified and are now isolating.
We have completed a deep clean of school areas; following our robust risk assessment.
I would like to thank all parents and children affected for your understanding in this matter. The children will now access home learning until their return to school.
Again, thank you for your support.
Miss Duce
Due to the ongoing restrictions we are facing due to Covid-19, we have decided that our usual Autumn Term Parents’ Evening will be replaced with a Parents and Teacher communication update via a telephone call. Please see letters for each year group here:
If you need a consent form please email sbm@lostockhall-pri.lancs.sch.uk and we will send one home with your child (Reception- Year 6).
In the event of needing to self-isolate, some children may have to be absent from school for up to 10 or 14 days respectively. If this is the case, these children and their families can access our Remote Learning to make sure that they keep up to speed with the work that is being covered in school whilst they are away. This can be found within each year group’s blog section and will be updated weekly, where appropriate.
Teachers will set appropriate work, in-line with our current curriculum, supplemented by a range of resources provided by White Rose Maths, Reading Plus, Times Table Rockstars, Reading Eggs, Purple Mash and Education City. Homework and weekly spelling lists will also be uploaded onto each Year group’s blog. Children will remain in contact with their class teachers through the Year group blog and email.
An new school lunch menu will be introduced from Monday 14th September. This will be in the form of a hot or cold grab bag. Please see the new menu by clicking on the link below:

Thank you for everyone's support last week, school has been a wonderful place to be. Unfortunately, some children have started with a cough/cold over the weekend and we appreciate that parents are keeping their child at home to ensure the safety of everyone at school.
If you are unsure of what to do, please complete the following questionnaire on the NHS 111 website. https://111.nhs.uk/
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
