Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This year we have decided to set a whole school challenge in order to raise money for Sport Relief.
In the week beginning 19th March, we are aiming to run 1,000 miles between all children and staff, meaning each class will need to run an average of at least 67 miles between them over the school week! This will take place during the school day and children will have opportunities to complete the challenge throughout the week.
In order to support the children, we ask that each child collects sponsorship money to motivate them for this difficult challenge. Pupils should bring their sponsor money in to school by Monday 9th April, along with the attached sponsorship form. The final total of miles completed will be put on the school website.
On Friday 23rd March there will also be a non-uniform day, where children are asked to wear something red. There will be no cost attached to this as children will be collecting sponsorship money for the run.
Your support with this is much appreciated.
I would like to invite you to an exhibition of all our children’s artwork. Please come and support the children at this wonderful event which will be held in the school hall on Thursday 15th March from 3.00pm until approx 4.30pm. All of the children’s artwork has been professionally framed and mounted and can be viewed on display stands so you can browse and view their masterpieces in their full splendour.
You can buy your child’s framed masterpiece at the exhibition a cost of £6. In addition to the framed original, you can also order any number of additional framed high quality colour copies of their original at £5 each. The artwork sales will also raise money for the school. The framed masterpiece or copy with its personalised label provides a lasting memento of your child’s time at school and also makes a great present for birthdays and other special events.
Your child’s artwork can be purchased and copies ordered at the exhibition on 15th March (cash payments please). Please do not send payment into school before the exhibition date. If you cannot attend on the day, you can still purchase your child’s framed picture from school where the artwork will be available for a further two weeks.
Although framed pictures may be purchased at the exhibition, we would ask that you do not take the pictures off the display stands at the exhibition so that parents attending after you can also see the full exhibition. We will give out the masterpieces after 4pm on the day of the exhibition and after school the following day.
Please enjoy and support this event and help raise funds for the school! We know you will find it hugely enjoyable and be very proud of your child’s achievement.
World Book Day – Thursday 1st March
This year, we will be celebrating World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite book character on Thursday 1st March. World Book Day £1 book tokens will also be given out on this day.
World Book Day falls at this time every year and is an international celebration of books and the love of reading.
We hope you are able to support this event and have fun dressing up!
