All the Pre-school children have been fantastic walking/ running so far this week. Everybody has managed a mile every day!
We hope to reach our target of 100 miles tomorrow.
Well done to all the Pre-School children, we all walked a mile this morning!!
Creative Arts Week
It has been a noisy but fun week in Pre-School. All the children loved playing the different instruments and performing songs to their friends.
In Dance we pretended to be creatures from under the sea, our favourite part was when we all became a great big jelly fish.
All the children made their own shaker and we were the Pre-school Orchestra, singing and playing Baa Baa Black Sheep.
World Book Day
It was very exciting to come to Pre-School this morning in our pyjamas and bring our teddies. We've been very busy reading stories to our teddies and writing our own special book.
The teddies can't wait to eat a special bedtime snack!
Yummy Yummy Fruit Salad!
We listened to the story 'Oliver's Fruit Salad' and discussed all the different fruit we see at the shops. Together we decided a variety of fruits we would like to try. We carefully chopped up the fruit and made our own bowl of fruit salad, all the children said it was yummy!
Our Kindness Buddies came to play
Today our friends from year 4 came to visit and play with us in Pre-School. We talked about toys we got for Christmas, our friends and food we like to eat.
We had lots of fun and they showed us how to share and be kind to each other, we hope you come back and visit us again soon.
We are a Pre-School!
Today was very exciting Mrs Brownley came and officially opened our Pre-School
We celebrated our new name with a drink of fizz and a piece of celebration cake.
Our Christmas Party
The children all had a fantastic time at our party, playing musical bumps, Christmas corners and pass the parcel.
All our party food was eaten in a flash!!
The highlight of the morning was when our families arrived to listen to our singing. We sang beautifully and Santa flew, especially, from the North Pole to see us singing (he even gave us an early Christmas present!).
We wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you in 2018.
Christmas in Nursery
December is always an exciting month in Nursery as we prepare to celebrate Christmas.
We will be very busy; cooking, making Christmas decorations, learning why we celebrate Christmas, helping Santa in his workshop and practising our singing ready for our concert.
The children have all written their letters to Santa and we've posted them to the North Pole, he's going to be very busy getting our presents ready!!
We hope you will be able to join us for our little concert on Wednesday 20th December at 10.30am
New Technologies Week
It was a very noisy week in Nursery!! All our toys used batteries or electricity to make them work. Our favourites included; a talking phone, laptops, a remote control bug and the Happy Land train which never stopped going round and round the track.
The teddies who visited Nursery proudly looked at themselves on the computer and were amazed when their picture came out of the printer. We hope they will come and visit again later in the year.
The highlight of our week was going to the hall in 'Big School' to play with the Xbox, Scaletrix, dance mats and the walking/ talking robots. Thank you to all year 6 children who made our visit so much fun.
Fireworks in Nursery!!
The Nursery children were very excited about all the fireworks they had seen on Bonfire Night. We were very creative expressing our observations about the colours, shapes and sounds of fireworks.
Freddie loved painting exploding fireworks in the night sky.
Ethan carefully used 2D shapes to make a rocket go to space.
There were lots of glittery rockets flying around Nursery, Isabel's rocket went "swoosh"
We had our own Nursery orchestra making lots of different firework noises, BANG, WHOOSH, WEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Our First Half-term in Nursery
All the children have had a fantastic start in Nursery, making new friends, beginning to learn their letters and playing
with lots of new toys. The children all enjoyed meeting (Teddy) Sam who will be helping us learn in Nursery this year. It has been a busy few weeks which all began when we visited the children at home, they continue to talk about our visit!
Here are just some of our high-lights:
Isabel - " I liked sticking the bits on to make my crazy person."
Jamie - " When Sam brought his socks in a muddle to Nursery I liked sorting the socks into pairs, telling Sam all about the pattern and then hanging them on the washing line with pegs."
Freddie - "I love playing with ALL my friends at Nursery."
Sebatian - " I love doing the hoovering in the Home-corner."
Jimmy - " I like going to the Big School to do P.E."
Alfie M - " I liked going on our autumn walk with my Stickman and finding coloured leaves, conkers and acorns."
Holly - "My favourite day was when Sam had his Birthday, we had a cake with candles and it tasted yummy!"
Our Autumn Walk
This morning we all put on our wellies and went out on our adventure! We were just like Percy the Park Keeper after the storm. Luckily the sun was shining and the wind had disappeared as we enthusiastically set off to the forest (the school's outside classroom).
Alicia commented " this is like going into a jungle."
All the children found lots of different coloured leaves, acorns, pine cones and twigs. Sometimes when we walked on the leaves we heard a crunch!!
Gethin showed us all the coloured leaves on the trees as we walked through the forest.
Jimmy found an enormous twig " look Mrs Whalley it's nearly as big as you! Can we take it back to Nursery to stick leaves onto it?"
Nursery is now the proud owner of our very own 'Enormous Stickman!'
Welcome to Nursery
It has been a busy first few weeks in Nursery,we have met lots of new friends, played both inside and outside Nursery and enjoyed eating our snack. All our faces are proudly displayed in the entrance hall in Nursery.
Heidi "Look, its me, up there, in Nursery!"
It was lots of fun going down to the 'big school' for PE, there was lots of room to travel in lots of different ways and we all remembered to stand still when we heard STOP!!
Alfie M "wow, there's loads of room to run fast in here."
This week we have begun to learn our letters, its very exciting to see what Sam has brought to show us in his bag, this week he had some sweets, a spider and snakes.
Alicia "Sam got a sssssssssss snake."
