Weekly nursery rhyme - Each week we will now be setting a nursery rhyme for the children to learn off by heart. This week we are learning the numbers 9 and 10 in Maths, therefore would like you to learn a counting song. Reading – Please read one of the books you have been assigned on Rising Stars each day. The idea is to read a book more than once to build up fluency. Once you have read a book a couple/few times so you are more fluent, please complete the quiz at the end and move it to the ‘finished’ section.

Please also read key words daily as flashcards (should take 2-3 minutes)

Topic - So far this half term we have looked at healthy eating and exercise to keep us healthy. Another way we can be healthy is by getting a good night’s sleep. Talk about why sleep is important (it gives you energy, improves your mood, helps your muscles repair and your bones grow). How do you feel if you haven’t had a good night’s sleep? One way you can make sure you get a good night’s sleep is by establishing a good bedtime routine. Talk with a grown up about your bedtime routine. How do you get ready for bed? How do you get relaxed? (read a book, listen to music, cuddle a teddy etc). You might want to act this out. If you like, you could try listening to one of the sleep meditations from New Horizons - follow the link for one of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZpiNJi8RtQ. Listening to a calming story is good at any time of the day, not just at bedtime. ☺
