English - Monday, 17th October - Read and Response.
Today we are focusing on our reading comprehension. Please read Chapter 8 of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. As you are reading think about what 'nice' and / or 'nasty' potion you would like to create if you were a student at Hogwarts.
Activity - Write a list of at least 3 'nice' and 3 'nasty' potions ideas, e.g. 'nice' could be growing beautifully soft, long hair overnight) and a different potion for 'nasty' could be for super smelly feet !
English - Tuesday, 19th October
Today's task is to use your ideas from yesterday to imagine you were in charge of coming up with 2 new potions at Hogwarts. You must come up with a potion for something good / nice (e.g. growing beautifully soft, long hair overnight) and a different potion for something bad to happen (e.g. for super smelly feet!). Each of your potions must include ingredients (nice ingredients for the ‘good’ potion, not so nice ingredients for the ‘bad’ potion!) and instructions as to how to ‘cook’ the potion. Perhaps you might also like to include a ‘Warnings and Safety Information’ section! Happy potion-making! Be as imaginative as you like!
